主を待ち望む者は

しかし、主を待ち望む者は新しく力を得、鷲のように翼をかって上ることができる。走ってもたゆまず、歩いても疲れない。
?．慰めよ、わたしの民を(1-11)
1.神様の選民イスラエルが受けた労苦は何ですか。その原因は何ですか。このような民を慰めることを願われる神様は、彼らにどんな喜びの知らせを伝えよと言われますか(1,2)。本当の慰めはどこにありますか。
40:1 「慰めよ。慰めよ。わたしの民を。」とあなたがたの神は仰せられる。
40:2 「エルサレムに優しく語りかけよ。これに呼びかけよ。その労苦は終わり、その咎は償われた。そのすべての罪に引き替え、二倍のものを主の手から受けたと。」
1 Comfort, comfort my people, says your God. 2 Speak tenderly to Jerusalem, and proclaim to her that her hard service has been completed, that her sin has been paid for, that she has received from the LORD’s hand double for all her sins.
2.神様は呼ぶ者に何を言われますか(3,4)。主の大路を、どのようにして平らにすることができますか。その時、誰の栄光が現われ、誰が何を共に見ることができますか(5a)。これが必ず起こるという根拠は何ですか(5b)。
40:3 荒野に呼ばわる者の声がする。「主の道を整えよ。荒地で、私たちの神のために、大路を平らにせよ。
40:4 すべての谷は埋め立てられ、すべての山や丘は低くなる。盛り上がった地は平地に、険しい地は平野となる。
40:5 このようにして、主の栄光が現わされると、すべての者が共にこれを見る。主の口が語られたからだ。」
3 A voice of one calling: “In the desert prepare the way for the LORD ; make straight in the wilderness a highway for our God. 4 Every valley shall be raised up, every mountain and hill made low; the rough ground shall become level, the rugged places a plain. 5 And the glory of the LORD will be revealed, and all mankind together will see it. For the mouth of the LORD has spoken.”
3.主の使者が呼ばなければならないメッセージは何ですか(6-8)。服役が終ったイスラエルが、自分と神様について何を悟らなければなりませんか。私たちが本当に頼り望みを置かなければならない物は何ですか。
40:6 「呼ばわれ。」と言う者の声がする。私は、「何と呼ばわりましょう。」と答えた。「すべての人は草、その栄光は、みな野の花のようだ。
40:7 主のいぶきがその上に吹くと、草は枯れ、花はしぼむ。まことに、民は草だ。
40:8 草は枯れ、花はしぼむ。だが、私たちの神のことばは永遠に立つ。」
6 A voice says, “Cry out.” And I said, “What shall I cry?” “All men are like grass, and all their glory is like the flowers of the field. 7 The grass withers and the flowers fall, because the breath of the LORD blows on them. Surely the people are grass. 8 The grass withers and the flowers fall, but the word of our God stands forever.”
4.今、イスラエルは誰を見なければなりませんか(9)。彼らが見なければならない神様はどんな方ですか(10,11)。
40:9 シオンに良い知らせを伝える者よ。高い山に登れ。エルサレムに良い知らせを伝える者よ。力の限り声をあげよ。声をあげよ。恐れるな。ユダの町々に言え。「見よ。あなたがたの神を。」
40:10 見よ。神である主は力をもって来られ、その御腕で統べ治める。見よ。その報いは主とともにあり、その報酬は主の前にある。
40:11 主は羊飼いのように、その群れを飼い、御腕に子羊を引き寄せ、ふところに抱き、乳を飲ませる羊を優しく導く。
9 You who bring good tidings to Zion, go up on a high mountain. You who bring good tidings to Jerusalem, lift up your voice with a shout, lift it up, do not be afraid; say to the towns of Judah, “Here is your God!” 10 See, the Sovereign LORD comes with power, and his arm rules for him. See, his reward is with him, and his recompense accompanies him. 11 He tends his flock like a shepherd: He gathers the lambs in his arms and carries them close to his heart; he gently leads those that have young.
?．主を待ち望む者(12-31)
1.神様はどれだけ簡単に大きなことをすることができますか(12)。また、その知識と洞察力はどんなものですか(13,14)。神様の御前では、国々は何のようですか(15-17)。
40:12 だれが、手のひらで水を量り、手の幅で天を推し量り、地のちりを枡に盛り、山をてんびんで量り、丘をはかりで量ったのか。
40:13 だれが主の霊を推し量り、主の顧問として教えたのか。
40:14 主はだれと相談して悟りを得られたのか。だれが公正の道筋を主に教えて、知識を授け、英知の道を知らせたのか。
40:15 見よ。国々は、手おけの一しずく、はかりの上のごみのようにみなされる。見よ。主は島々を細かいちりのように取り上げる。
40:16 レバノンも、たきぎにするには、足りない、その獣も、全焼のいけにえにするには、足りない。
40:17 すべての国々も主の前では無いに等しく、主にとってはむなしく形もないものとみなされる。
12 Who has measured the waters in the hollow of his hand, or with the breadth of his hand marked off the heavens? Who has held the dust of the earth in a basket, or weighed the mountains on the scales and the hills in a balance? 13 Who has understood the mind of the LORD, or instructed him as his counselor? 14 Whom did the LORD consult to enlighten him, and who taught him the right way? Who was it that taught him knowledge or showed him the path of understanding? 15 Surely the nations are like a drop in a bucket; they are regarded as dust on the scales; he weighs the islands as though they were fine dust. 16 Lebanon is not sufficient for altar fires, nor its animals enough for burnt offerings. 17 Before him all the nations are as nothing; they are regarded by him as worthless and less than nothing.
2.なぜ神様は偶像や世のどんな権力者とも比べることができないのでしょうか(18-25)。神様の力と能力はどんなものですか(26)。以上から神様はどれだけ大きく、偉大なのでしょうか。
40:18 あなたがたは、神をだれになぞらえ、神をどんな似姿に似せようとするのか。
40:19 鋳物師は偶像を鋳て造り、金細工人はそれに金をかぶせ、銀の鎖を作る。
40:20 貧しい者は、奉納物として、朽ちない木を選び、巧みな細工人を捜して、動かない偶像を据える。
40:21 あなたがたは知らないのか。聞かないのか。初めから、告げられなかったのか。地の基がどうして置かれたかを悟らなかったのか。
40:22 主は地をおおう天蓋の上に住まわれる。地の住民はいなごのようだ。主は天を薄絹のように延べ、これを天幕のように広げて住まわれる。
40:23 君主たちを無に帰し、地のさばきつかさをむなしいものにされる。
40:24 彼らが、やっと植えられ、やっと蒔かれ、やっと地に根を張ろうとするとき、主はそれに風を吹きつけ、彼らは枯れる。暴風がそれを、わらのように散らす。
40:25 「それなのに、わたしを、だれになぞらえ、だれと比べようとするのか。」と聖なる方は仰せられる。
40:26 目を高く上げて、だれがこれらを創造したかを見よ。この方は、その万象を数えて呼び出し、一つ一つ、その名をもって、呼ばれる。この方は精力に満ち、その力は強い。一つももれるものはない。
18 To whom, then, will you compare God? What image will you compare him to? 19 As for an idol, a craftsman casts it, and a goldsmith overlays it with gold and fashions silver chains for it. 20 A man too poor to present such an offering selects wood that will not rot. He looks for a skilled craftsman to set up an idol that will not topple. 21 Do you not know? Have you not heard? Has it not been told you from the beginning? Have you not understood since the earth was founded? 22 He sits enthroned above the circle of the earth, and its people are like grasshoppers. He stretches out the heavens like a canopy, and spreads them out like a tent to live in. 23 He brings princes to naught and reduces the rulers of this world to nothing. 24 No sooner are they planted, no sooner are they sown, no sooner do they take root in the ground, than he blows on them and they wither, and a whirlwind sweeps them away like chaff. 25 “To whom will you compare me? Or who is my equal?” says the Holy One. 26 Lift your eyes and look to the heavens: Who created all these? He who brings out the starry host one by one, and calls them each by name. Because of his great power and mighty strength, not one of them is missing.
3.イスラエルは、彼らの事情と苦しみに対して神様にどれだけ不平しましたか(27)。このような彼らが知らず、悟ることのできない神様に対する知識は何ですか(28,29)。「主は永遠の神」、「その英知は計りしれない」という意味について話して見ましょう。
40:27 ヤコブよ。なぜ言うのか。イスラエルよ。なぜ言い張るのか。「私の道は主に隠れ、私の正しい訴えは、私の神に見過ごしにされている。」と。
40:28 あなたは知らないのか。聞いていないのか。主は永遠の神、地の果てまで創造された方。疲れることなく、たゆむことなく、その英知は測り知れない。
40:29 疲れた者には力を与え、精力のない者には活気をつける。
27 Why do you say, O Jacob, and complain, O Israel, “My way is hidden from the LORD; my cause is disregarded by my God”? 28 Do you not know? Have you not heard? The LORD is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth. He will not grow tired or weary, and his understanding no one can fathom. 29 He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak.
4.私たちがどのようにすれば、主の力と英知を得ることができますか(30,31)。「主を待ち望む」とはどのようにすることを言いますか。主を待ち望む者はどれだけ力ある新しい人生を送ることができますか。２１世紀を迎える私たちは何を見やすいですか。しかしただ私たちが誰を仰ぎ見なければなりませんか。
40:30 若者も疲れ、たゆみ、若い男もつまずき倒れる。
40:31 しかし、主を待ち望む者は新しく力を得、鷲のように翼をかって上ることができる。走ってもたゆまず、歩いても疲れない。
30 Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall; 31 but those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.
